Anakin meeting Qui-Gon Jinn

Anakin Skywalker – Meeting Qui-Gon Jinn

The slave looked up. Into his master’s shop
Had come a stranger. Qui-Gon Jinn looked down
To see the bright-eyed lad make haste to drop
His task to serve him. What a grubby town
Mos Espa was! And yet – Qui-Gon looked close
Into the eyes of the young, clear-eyed boy.
He felt a whisper through the Force as those
Quick boyish movements fulfilled their employ.
“My slave.” Old Watto said of him. His shop
Was filled with junkyard grime and yellow sand.
But Qui-Gon couldn’t let the matter drop:
There’s something here he could not understand.
Then Anakin took home Jedi Qui-Gon
To meet his mother, Shmi – a slave as well.
The Jedi asked some questions ‘bout her son.
Shmi replied – her simple truth to tell.
Qui-Gon, astounded, knew he was unique:
Perhaps the Chosen One long prophesied.
His confirmation comes, as soon-to-speak,
The test-results to Qui-Gon were described.
“He is The One!” Qui-Gon whispered in awe.
“More priceless than the things we came here for…”
